Cleveland Browns Linked To 2 Popular NFL Quarterbacks In Latest Report That’s Bad News For Shedeur Sanders

The Cleveland Browns could start the 2026 NFL season with a different starting quarterback. Joe Flacco (traded to the Cincinnati Bengals), Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders started for the AFC North team in 2025. Nobody convinced the front office to give them the reins of the squad.
On March 22, reporter Daniel Oyefusi said that the most realistic scenario for the Browns would be hoping that Sanders develops into a reliable starter.
“Realistically, the best pathway for the Browns and this current roster is for one of these incumbent guys to take off. And really, you’re looking at Shedeur because he’s younger and you saw some flashes this past year,” Oyefusi said.
Cleveland Browns Linked With 2 Veteran Quarterbacks

CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards joined 92.3 The Fan on Friday. He discussed a potential Browns move ahead of the draft, involving two quarterbacks.
“I think that Will Levis and Anthony Richardson will be moved before the draft, so I think the Browns are going to be in that conversation for those two players,” Edwards said. “That’s a more worthwhile dart throw than going down the route of a Carson Beck or Drew Allar.”

Ty Simpson has been linked with the Browns, too, but that seems like a long shot now.
