The San Francisco 49ers will spend most, if not all, of the upcoming NFL season without one of their top offensive players. Star tight end George Kittle suffered a torn Achilles tendon during San Francisco’s Wild Card playoff win over the Philadelphia Eagles last season. The injury now leaves major questions about when Kittle can return and how close he can get to his previous form.
Achilles injuries usually take a long time to heal and can be very difficult for athletes who depend on strength, speed, and quick movements. George Kittle has built his career by being one of the NFL’s toughest and most complete tight ends, so the injury was tough for both the team and fans to see.
His wife, Claire Kittle, seemed especially emotional about the injury. The couple met while they were student-athletes at the University of Iowa and have been together throughout Kittle’s NFL journey. Claire has always supported him throughout his career and continues to stand by him during his recovery.

In a post on X early Tuesday morning, Kittle described how Claire woke him at 4 a.m. after spotting what he called a spider “the size of a half dollar” in their bathroom.
“At 4 am this morning, as I laid in a deep slumber, I was called to action by my wife who had discovered a spider the size of a half dollar in the bathroom. Without hesitation I arose to combat the intruder,” Kittle wrote.

He then joked about grabbing one of his rehab tools to handle the situation.
“Claire handed me the slant board I’ve been using for rehab, and I immediately knew the spider had no chance,” Kittle posted. “It took but 1 attempt to strike down my opponent.”
Kittle finished the story with more humor, writing, “I received hugs and kisses for my bravery and fell back asleep with confidence. Have a day gentlemen.”
The post resonated with many fans because many couples can relate to the situation. One person notices a bug, and the other gets asked to handle it. Kittle added his own sense of humor to the moment, making fans laugh.
Even while recovering from injury, the 49ers star continues to entertain fans off the field. His latest story gave people a fun and lighthearted moment during his recovery.
