Josh Jacobs is facing the real possibility not only of losing his freedom but also of being suspended for the 2026 season. Jacobs was arrested on Tuesday and booked into Brown County Jail on five different charges.
It came after an incident involving a disturbance complaint on Saturday morning, according to a press release obtained by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. The charges include battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.
Jacobs’ attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, released a statement on his behalf. he “vehemently denied” the charges, per his representation, who are asking for “fairness and restraint” during the legal process.

The NFL released a statement about the incident. The league said, “We are aware of the report and have been in contact with the club.”
The 28-year-old has been with the Packers for the last two seasons. He is under contract in Green Bay for the next two seasons.
Missing Josh Jacobs Would Be Detrimental to The Packers

The Green Bay Packers ended their 2025 season on a brutal five-game losing streak. After starting the year with a promising 9-3-1 record, the team dropped its final four regular-season games, then lost in the Wild Card playoff game to the Chicago Bears.
Not having Josh Jacobs for an extended period would not help them heading into the 2026 season. The team is unlikely to have Micah Parsons as he continues to recover from a torn left ACL he suffered late in the 2025 season.
The Green Bay Packers star edge rusher might not return until Week 3 or Week. Not having Jacobs would be a double punch to the gut.
In the 2025 NFL regular season, Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs played 15 games. He rushed for 929 yards on 234 carries (4.0 yards per carry) and scored 13 rushing touchdowns.
