Mike Vrabel’s household can’t catch a break this offseason.

Only weeks after the Patriots coach was dragged into a scandal, his son, Tyler, got into trouble of his own.

According to the New York Post, the 26‑year‑old Boston College assistant was pulled over in Brentwood, Tennessee, on May 9. Police say he was going through a residential stretch at 71 mph in a 45 zone, behind the wheel of a Ford F‑150.

Officers described the driving as reckless, with the truck weaving past homes and other motorists.

An affidavit shows Brentwood officer Aaron Yoder stating, “The truck was speeding past houses and other vehicles recklessly.”

When stopped, Tyler handed over paperwork that had expired over a year ago; his registration hadn’t been updated since before December 2024. That, coupled with the speeding, earned him three charges, including reckless driving, speeding, and expired registration.

Court records show formal charges were filed on May 21. Tyler got hit with $1,000 in fines, including a mandatory $250 fee tied to a blood alcohol test taken during the stop.

Tyler’s football path includes a short stint in the NFL with the Falcons before he transitioned to coaching. His career is overshadowed by the family drama at the moment, however.

For Mike Vrabel, the timing couldn’t be worse. His name was already splashed across gossip columns thanks to the alleged affair with reporter Dianna Russini. Now, news of his son’s arrest adds another layer of unwanted attention.

On a lighter note, Tyler got engaged this month. He shared a family photo, which naturally prompted fans to joke about the Russini scandal all over again.
