Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson delivered an unintentional double entendre while speaking to Kay Adams on Monday.
Johnson joined Adams on her ‘Up & Adams’ show ahead of Chicago’s first padded practice. Asked what he was most looking forward to, he made a comment he might want to take back.
“We’ll see a lot of competition come out,” Johnson said. “We got one-on-ones going on, first thing once we get lubed up and ready to go. And I think it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
The remark immediately stood out online, with many viewers joking about Johnson’s choice of words.
Ben Johnson Most Looking Forward To Seeing What His Big Guys Have To Offer

The clip below shows Johnson speaking casually about the physical nature of padded practice before Adams asks which position group he is most eager to evaluate.
Without hesitation, the second-year Bears head coach replies, “The big guys.”
The exchange quickly spread across social media, where fans latched onto the phrase “lubed up and ready to go.”
“‘Lubed up and ready to go’ 😂,” one fan laughed.

The interview came a day after Adams revealed she would be visiting Bears training camp, teasing the trip in a viral social media post on Sunday. As you know, Adams has been pretty busy this offseason, taking in World Cup action ahead of her training camp schedule.
For Johnson, the focus remains on preparing a revamped Bears roster for the 2026 season, his second after arriving from Detroit, where he built a reputation as one of football’s most creative offensive minds.
While his comment was almost certainly intended as a reference to players getting warmed up before practice, it’s given the internet something else to laugh at.
