Dr. Anthony Fauci didn’t have a lot to say to the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs last week. However, he isn’t taking Aaron Rodgers’ criticism lying down.

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback went off on Fauci during an appearance on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on Monday. He referred to the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease as an “absolute criminal.”

He also called him a coward several times.

Rodgers wasted no time going in on Fauci, responding to the first question he was asked by jokingly pleading the fifth.

“I’m going to plead the fifth,” he said with a smile. “Like that absolute coward, Tony Fauci. Absolute coward.”

Fauci, as you probably know, invoked the Fifth Amendment over 100 times in front of said committee.

Rodgers, who was widely maligned for refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine during the pandemic, came out guns blazing on Monday.

“You got a pardon, and you’re in front of — and you pleaded [the Fifth] over 100 times?” he said. “What are you scared of, Tony? I thought you were the science. I thought you [were], ‘I am science.’ And you get up there and you can’t answer a question?”

Consequently, the immunologist responded through his lawyer on Tuesday.

“Aaron Rodgers doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He should stick to football,” attorney David Schertler told The Athletic in an email.

Rodgers has used ‘The Pat McAfee’ show to stir up plenty of controversy in the past.

The program now airs in part on ESPN, yet that hardly stopped him from criticizing the network during his latest appearance.

He questioned their coverage of Fauci’s supposed cowardice and even called them out for their lack of reporting on Dianna Russini.

We’re just waiting for Jimmy Fallon’s thoughts on the whole thing.
