AJ Brown Forced Out Of Game, Undergoes X-Rays After Suffering Nasty Ankle Injury [VIDEO]

New England Patriots star wide receiver AJ Brown left tonight’s season opener against the Seattle Seahawks after an apparent lower leg or ankle injury.
The scary moment happened during a crucial third-down play when he went down hard following an incomplete pass. Consequently, trainers immediately rushed onto the field to check on him.
He was experiencing visible discomfort around his lower leg as he lay on the grass. Thankfully, he was able to get back up on his feet after a few tense moments.
AJ Brown Heads to The Sideline
Unfortunately, Brown walked off the field with a very noticeable limp. The Patriots stated he was questionable to return to the contest. It was later reported that he visited the x-ray room.
This was a contest that had already seen Sam Darnold leave the game with a hip injury. On the second play of the game, he would take an awkward tackle from behind. Just before the end of the first half, he would be ruled out of the contest.
Before his injury, Brown had three catches on four targets for 26 receiving yards.
The Patriots Cannot Lose Brown
AJ Brown’s sudden exit adds massive insult to injury for a New England offense that is already quite depleted tonight. Tight end Hunter Henry had already gone to the locker room earlier in the game with his own injury concern.
Losing both weapons on the same night leaves rookie quarterback Drake Maye in an incredibly difficult position.
Brown was expected to be the focal point of the entire passing game after being traded to New England this offseason. If he is out for an extended period of time, the Patriots will be in big trouble.
