Sports Doctor Raises Serious Concern Over De’Von Achane’s Horrific Injury [VIDEO]

The Miami Dolphins got some scary news during their Week 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. They lost De’Von Achane, one of their best offensive stars, after he went down with a left knee injury and had to leave the game.
Achane hurt his knee while trying to make extra yards after a catch. A defender grabbed him from behind, which twisted his left leg awkwardly into the turf. He limped off the field, and the team initially listed him as questionable before ruling him out for the rest of the day.
Sports Doctor Raises Concern Over Possible Meniscus Injury

The injury caught the attention of sports doctor Jeff Mueller, PT, DPT. After watching the play, Mueller focused on the way Achane’s left leg twisted while his foot stayed planted.
Mueller shared his thoughts on X after Achane left the game. “Not seeing a tibia shift (lower concern for ACL) but a lot of twisting with foot planted adds concern for Meniscus injury,” he said
De’Von Achane –
Takes an awkward long step during this run and then landed hard directly onto his right knee after contact.
Concern for PCL if it happened at the end.
Hard to see his knee during the long step so I won’t speculate further than that.

Mueller pointed out that Achane was limping on his left leg as he headed back to the locker room. It’s not an official diagnosis, but it definitely gives Miami fans something to worry about as they wait for test results.
If it turns out to be a meniscus problem, Achane could still miss some games depending on how bad the tear is. On the bright side, Mueller didn’t think the hit looked like a torn ACL based on the video.
The Dolphins haven’t shared official details yet. Head coach Jeff Hafley might share an update after the game, or the team could hold off until doctors run more scans on Achane’s knee.
Achane is a huge part of the offense, so losing him is a massive blow, especially since people were already worried about his health back in May before the season. It hurts even worse because Miami was already playing without Jaylen Wright on Sunday, who is still out with a foot injury.
That left Ollie Gordon II as the main option behind Achane. The 226-pound former Oklahoma State running back showed what he can bring to the offense. Soon after Achane left, Gordon scored a touchdown on a spinning run.
Miami now faces a bigger question if Achane needs to miss time.
The Dolphins could rely on Gordon, but they may also look at free-agent options. Kareem Hunt remains available; however, Carolina Panthers got some interest in him recently.
For now, Miami will wait for more tests before it knows how long Achane could miss.
