Buffalo Bills defender Bradley Chubb starred in one of the most controversial moments of Week 5 of the 2026 NFL season. Los Angeles Rams tackle Alaric Jackson took offense at Chubb’s trash talk after the Bills escaped SoFi Stadium with a 37-34 overtime win.

Cameras caught Jackson and Chubb exchanging words before the tackle approached the linebacker. They barked at each other a little more before Jackson connected a right hook to Chubb’s face.

The NFL initially suspended Jackson for two games. After appealing, the league reduced the suspension to one game. After the videos went viral and the league punished Jackson, fans still wanted to hear Chubb’s version.

Chubb shared his side of the story on Wednesday. He clarified that he never mentioned Jackson’s family, contrary to what he had heard.

“I’ll tell you exactly what I said,” Chubb told reporters at the practice facility on UC Irvine’s campus. “I’ve heard I was talking about his mom. That’s not true at all. I said, ‘We’re gonna see y’all’s ass again. And when we see you again, all that chipping ain’t gonna save you. That tight end and guard is not going to save you.’ He said, ‘What’d you say?’ I said, ‘That chip’s not gonna save you. The guard’s not gonna save you.’ And then boom.”

Chubb admitted that he initiated the talk, but put a limit on the words he used. Meanwhile, the Bills improved to 4-1, while the Rams dropped to 2-3. The two teams could meet in Super Bowl 61 next year, with Chubb and Jackson likely facing off again.
