The AJ Brown trade saga appears to be far from over, less than a week before the start of the NFL’s new year. The veteran wide receiver has drawn plenty of attention around the league, as several franchises would benefit from his talents.

On Thursday, the Buffalo Bills, one of the teams linked with a move for Brown, ruled themselves out of the race for the former Tennessee Titans star. Buffalo completed a trade with the Chicago Bears for DJ Moore, closing the door for Brown.

Even after that, Brown remains a sought-after player, and two AFC powerhouses remained interested in acquiring his services.

In the wake of the Bills-Bears trade around DJ Moore, Philadelphia Eagles reporter Jeff McLane noted that two teams remained in the race to trade for AJ Brown: The New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens.

“The Bills trading for WR DJ Moore would theoretically take them out of the AJ Brown market. They checked in with the #Eagles about their wide receiver, from what I understand. Patriots and Ravens are the most likely potential partners, especially as I understand it, the Eagles inclined to only deal with AFC teams,” McLane tweeted.

The Patriots were close to winning another Super Bowl this season. The Ravens are expected to bounce back in 2026 after parting ways with John Harbaugh. Either team would give Brown a strong chance to shine and bounce back.

He recorded 78 receptions in 2026 for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns.
