2 Teams Emerge As Frontrunners For Derrick Henry Blockbuster Trade

The Baltimore Ravens might have a tough choice to make before the NFL trade deadline. With less than a week to go, star running back Derrick Henry has popped up as a real name to keep an eye on, and teams like the New York Giants and New England Patriots make a lot of sense if Baltimore decides to deal him.
Even at 33 years old, Henry is still putting up good numbers, rushing for 632 yards and eight touchdowns already. But the Ravens have hit a rough patch, and losing Lamar Jackson indefinitely to a thumb injury pretty much crushed their hopes of making a serious Super Bowl run.
Henry is owed $12 million next season. If the Ravens don’t see him as part of their long-term plans, it might make sense to listen to trade calls and grab some draft picks before the November 10 deadline.
ESPN’s Dan Graziano singled out Henry as a player to watch, noting that because most of his money was already paid out in bonuses, his remaining base salary would be really easy for a contending team to fit under their cap.
“If he isn’t in Baltimore’s plans beyond this year, the Ravens could find themselves fielding offers over the next week,” Graziano wrote.
Giants And Patriots Could Make Sense For Henry

The Giants came as one team worth watching. Head coach John Harbaugh knows Henry well from their time together in Baltimore. Harbaugh also showed interest in the trade market last week, contacting the Tennessee Titans about defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons.
Harbaugh recently addressed the possibility of making more moves before the deadline.
“We’re going to do the most we can possibly do to try to get some things done. It’s hard to get deals done,” Harbaugh said.
The Giants could use another reliable option in their backfield. Henry would give Harbaugh a familiar player who brings experience and leadership to the locker room.
The Patriots also deserve attention. Head coach Mike Vrabel knows Henry from his time in Tennessee. That connection could make a potential deal easier to explore.
New England also has reasons to consider adding help at running back. Henry could give the Patriots a proven option as they look to strengthen their offense for the stretch run.
Still, Baltimore must decide whether trading Henry makes sense. A loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday could push the Ravens closer to that decision.
For now, the Giants and Patriots look like two teams worth watching as the November 10 deadline approaches.
