Ashton Jeanty Gets Major Injury Update After Leaving Practice As His Raiders Teammates Prayed For Him

The Las Vegas Raiders have finally released an update about Ashton Jeanty’s status after suffering a devastating-looking injury during practice.

Ahead of their scheduled preseason finale against the San Francisco 49ers, Jeanty was at tiptop shape, raring to go all in, even in practice.

Unfortunately, the running back went down during team period, landing awkwardly after a catch. 

Raiders Release Injury Update About Ashton Jeanty

Initial reports about the severity of Jeanty’s injury were concerning. Even ESPN’s Ryan McFadden reported that the trainers helped the sophomore RB off the field. It was also stated that a 22-year-old couldn’t put any pressure on his leg. 

When additional reports surfaced that his Raiders teammates took a knee and said a prayer, it looked bleak for Jeanty at first glance.

With fans now anticipating bad news, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Ashton Jeanty had been diagnosed with a sprained ankle.

“Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty, who had to be helped off the practice field today, is believed to have sprained his ankle, sources tell @rapsheet and me. The Raiders still are unsure how long he will be out, but it is not considered a long-term injury and the organization is breathing a sigh of relief tonight. Raiders declined comment on Jeanty’s injury,” Schefter wrote on X.

Jeanty Knew He Would Be Special

As college football’s Heisman runner-up in 2025, Ashton Jeanty knew he had the chops to make it in the NFL. He rushed for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns during his last year at Boise State.

When his name was called as the 6th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, many were convinced he’d become a star. Maybe he anticipated his rise, too.

Even before he set foot on the field, the running back had already paid a massive fortune to teammate Daniel Carson to get his hands on the number two. The price to pay wasn’t low, either. In a previous interview, he disclosed that it was enough to buy a Mercedes GLE.

He believed in himself to succeed. There’s no doubt he’ll get back from his sprained ankle in no time.
