Dom DiSandro, widely known as “Big Dom,” is the Philadelphia Eagles’ chief security officer. He is also the senior advisor to the general manager and director of gameday coaching operations.

He became widely known in 2023 when he got into a physical altercation with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw on the sideline. Greenlaw tackled Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith near the Philadelphia sideline. Words were exchanged, and Dom DiSandro stepped onto the white boundary stripe to separate the players.

DiSandro placed his hands on Greenlaw. It resulted in both men being ejected and a multi-game sideline ban for DiSandro.

Fast forward to this year, and it appears another issue could be coming out.

Former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho has social media talking this week. It was after he spoke about the internal operations of professional sports franchises.

During a public discussion on his podcast, he shared an anecdote regarding a past vehicular incident and the subsequent involvement of team security personnel. Specifically, he suggested that a team employee coordinate with local cops to manage the official documentation of an accident.

“I’m playing for a team, I can’t say what team,” Acho said on his Speakeasy Podcast. “I played for three so, at least you all can’t know exactly which one.”

Acho said he rear-ended another driver on his way to practice and contacted “one of our security people” for the team he played for. He further added, “When the cop shows up, send the cop away. I’m going to send you another cop. And that other cop is going to say it wasn’t your fault. It was their fault.”

While the specific franchise involved was not named, the story made traction and began to evolve around Dom DiSandro.

The long tenure of Dom DiSandro as the Eagles’ chief security officer has placed his name into this conversation, even though no direct evidence has been presented.

Speculation quickly focused on possible connections to specific teams from Acho’s playing career between 2012 and 2015. Process of elimination based on practice facility locations and timelines has led some observers to highlight the Philadelphia Eagles as the most likely organization involved.

Furthermore, it was noted that any potential league inquiry might naturally begin with the individual who has overseen the franchise’s security matters since 1999. It should be noted that nothing concrete ties him to the specific events described by Acho.

Consequently, the conversation remains rooted in circumstantial timing and organizational structure rather than verified facts.

Don’t expect Dom DiSandro to say anything that would incriminate himself or put his job at risk.
