Veronika Khomyn has become something of a recurring character in Rams coverage over the past year. Her husband, head coach Sean McVay, keeps building on his Super Bowl LVI legacy. She keeps generating her own headlines along the way.
Khomyn’s social media presence has produced a steady stream of viral moments throughout 2026 alone. A shirtless photo of McVay alongside her on a boat sparked plenty of jokes this summer. One fan suggested the coach looked ready to “slot into the defense.”
This week, that attention reportedly followed her somewhere a little more unexpected.
A Photo Reportedly Made Its Way Through The Building
McVay and his wife, Veronika Khomyn, spent part of their offseason vacationing overseas, and a photo from that trip showing the couple in swimwear on a boat went viral.
60 Minutes itself noted the moment directly, stating that “a viral photo of a very in-shape Sean McVay on a boat seems to have made its way around the Rams locker room.”
Jon Wertheim pressed quarterback Matthew Stafford about the photo directly during the interview. “Have you seen the viral shot of the abs on the boat?” Wertheim asked.
Stafford didn’t hold back his reaction. “Oh yeah. Oh yeah… I mean, we all were like, ‘We better hit the weight room, because this guy’s (LAUGH) shredded.’ I mean, that’s the guy– no, he’s– he’s– he’s putting the time and the effort in,” Stafford said.
McVay Has Credited Her With Keeping Him In Coaching
The attention around Khomyn comes during a pivotal stretch for the Rams organization. McVay revealed earlier this year that he seriously considered stepping away from coaching entirely after a rough 5-12 season. He told the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast that burnout had pushed him toward a broadcast booth job instead.
He’s credited Khomyn directly with talking him out of that decision. “She’s like, ‘You know, that never really sounded like the kind of leader you wanted to be,’” McVay recalled her telling him. “Boom. It hit me like a ton of bricks.”
Los Angeles enters this season as a Super Bowl favorite. An offseason trade for star pass rusher Myles Garrett has only raised expectations further.
Whether Khomyn’s viral moment becomes a lasting distraction or simply another footnote in an already attention-grabbing year remains to be seen. Based on 2026 alone, though, it likely won’t be the last headline she generates.
