Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes became visibly emotional on the sideline after witnessing Tyquan Thornton’s gruesome injury.

The star signal-caller had just connected with his young breakout wide receiver on a massive 55-yard deep completion. Subsequently, Mahomes watched in absolute horror as Thornton collapsed onto the turf in agonizing pain from the ankle fracture.

The tight-knit chemistry between the two athletes had been the driving force behind the team’s offensive success today. With one play, Mahomes likely knew their chemistry was done for the year.

Consequently, the raw distress on the superstar’s face perfectly mirrored the somber mood felt across the entire stadium.

What is The Outlook For Tyquan Thornton?

The immediate outlook for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyquan Thornton is highly discouraging following his severe ankle fracture-dislocation. The explosive young pass-catcher will undergo immediate, season-ending surgery to repair the structural damage in his left leg.

Consequently, the Chiefs must navigate the remainder of the regular season without their top deep threat. Medical experts anticipate a lengthy rehabilitation process for the talented athlete over the next several months.

Furthermore, this devastating blow forces head coach Andy Reid to drastically alter his offensive passing game plan. Thornton recorded five catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns before leaving the game. All led the team.
