CBS Cameraman Under Fire For Obsessing Over Madison Beer During Chargers’ Week 1 Loss [VIDEO]
This article was originally published on Total Pro Sports.

Justin Herbert entered Sunday’s season opener with real expectations attached. A win seemed like a foregone conclusion with the Chargers heading into their matchup against a shorthanded Cardinals team.
That optimism faded pretty quickly.
Arizona’s backup quarterback, Jacoby Brissett, outplayed Herbert by a wide margin, and Los Angeles fell 26-14 in a result few analysts saw coming before kickoff.
While the game itself disappointed, one storyline from the broadcast generated just as much conversation afterward.
Cameras Kept Finding Herbert’s Fiancée All Game

CBS repeatedly cut to Herbert’s fiancée, singer Madison Beer, throughout Sunday’s broadcast. The official SportsCenter account even posted a clip of her supporting Herbert, captioned with a heart emoji, and cameras returned to her again later as she celebrated his touchdown pass to Ladd McConkey.
Fans reacted with a mix of amusement and genuine frustration once clips began circulating online.
“Thank you so much for the WAG content since my tiny woman brain can’t understand sports!” one fan joked.

Herbert And Beer’s Relationship Has Drawn Attention All Year

Beer and Herbert have dated since August 2025, later getting engaged this past July.
Their relationship has generated headlines well beyond Sunday’s broadcast, including a red carpet appearance together at the Pre-Grammy Gala earlier this year and a viral moment from Chargers training camp this summer.
Herbert finished Sunday’s game with a 47.2 passer rating, a stark contrast to Brissett’s 85.4 mark in the win.
Given how much attention Beer already draws during Chargers broadcasts, Sunday’s uneven performance likely won’t be the last time cameras split focus between the game and the stands.
