The Cleveland Browns have another quarterback situation for the second consecutive season. Despite starting Shedeur Sanders for their last seven games of 2025, the AFC North team still has an open competition to define its starter for 2026.

Deshaun Watson and Dillon Gabriel are back, while the front office added another quarterback, Taylen Green, in April’s draft.

They have multiple options, but nobody has convinced head coach Todd Monken to give them the keys to the car. In fact, the coach has expressed his frustration with his quarterbacks’ play.

Despite having four different options, Monken hasn’t found the right one for the job. On Wednesday, the coach said it was “embarrassing” how many interceptions the quarterbacks threw during no-contact, 7-on-7 drills.

While Watson looked like the stronger candidate to start next season, Shedeur Sanders could still catch up with him. The only certainty now is that everybody in the room has some serious work to do.
