Truth be told, after the roster cuts, there were reports that the Dallas Cowboys weren’t done acquiring talent. Fast-forward to today: they actually did it – again.

While the Cowboys are looking to rebound from a so-so 2025 campaign, the team actually has one of the better offenses throughout the NFL. Dak Prescott is still in his prime. Plus, they have two All-Pro receivers on the team, Ceedee Lamb and George Pickens.

Now, they’ll add depth to their receiving options ahead of the season.

Ryan Flournoy Signs A 1-Year Extension With The Dallas Cowboys

Flournoy, the team’s other star wide receiver, will continue to don the Cowboys uniform for at least another year.

“The #Cowboys and WR Ryan Flournoy have agreed to a 1-year contract extension worth up to $6M,” NFL Insider Jordan Schultz wrote on X.

“Flournoy is coming off a career year with 40 catches for 475 and 4 TDs. He’s expected to have an even bigger role in the offense this season as the solidified WR3 and now gets a new deal ahead of it.”

Fans of NFL analytics believe that Flournoy will have another good year for the Cowboys. Some even suggest that the 26-year-old could start as a receiver for another team.

So how can a non-starter receiver such as Ryan Flournoy become a ‘secret superstar?’

PFF has something to do with it. The popular football site was impressed by Flournoy’s 2025 campaign, thus calling him a star in his own right.

Last season, the Dallas Cowboys’ third receiver had 40 receptions for 475 yards. He also had 4 touchdowns, including a pair of 100-yard receiving games. In comparison, he had no touchdowns during his rookie year in 2024.

His receiving game is projected to go up again in 2026. And for a one-year $6 million deal? That’s a bargain for a talent like Flournoy. Moreover, the Cowboys have been busy before their season opener.
