Just when you thought you got away from the Tush Push, it is now in the video game world.

This week, it was revealed that Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was announced as EA Sports’ cover athlete for Madden NFL 27. With his arm cocked to throw and his feet spread, Williams appears to soar above a silhouette of the Chicago skyline that is set against a blue backdrop.

The deluxe edition features a tight shot of Williams, arms crossed over his white game jersey, against a dark, night-like background, with snow falling around him. Being featured on the game’s cover is “like my childhood dream was coming true,” Williams said. “I grew up playing Madden and imagining what it would be like to be part of the game.”

One day after that announcement, EA would release several gameplay images. One image sent social media into a tirade.

Get ready to see a bunch of rage quits in Madden NFL 27. The gameplay images came out this week, and fans are not happy. One image shows Fernando Mendoza running into the end zone against the Seahawks. Another image shows Dak Prescott getting ready to lead his team to the field.

A third image was of Myles Garrett with the Rams, just days after he was traded. The final picture was of the Eagles team doing the tush push.

“IS THAT THE TUSH PUSH?” one person asked.

“Tush push is in… we’re cooked,” a second person stated.

“y’all didn’t add the tush push no way right,” a third fan wrote.

“Somebody runs the “Tush Push” when I’m playing, we fighting!” a fourth person added.

“Annnnd the tush push is in the game, can’t wait for the exploits,” one final person commented.

The play remains a legal play in the NFL. After significant debate, the league chose not to ban the controversial quarterback sneak last year, per Yahoo. The push play—popularized by the Philadelphia Eagles in short-yardage situations—has continually faced critics citing safety and aesthetic concerns.

Now, Madden has been brought into gameplay.
