Nolan Smith Jr. Has Been in Trouble Before

This isn’t the first time that Smith has been arrested for traffic violations. As a star at Georgia, he was taken into custody outside of Athens. He was charged with two traffic violations.
According to Marc Weiszer from the Athens Banner-Herald, Nolan Smith Jr. was charged with speeding in a construction zone and driving on a suspended license. He was reportedly going 89 miles per hour, 44 miles per hour over the limit.
At the time, his license had been suspended since January 19, 2021.
Following his college career, the Eagles chose Smith with the 30th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Smith started 12 games for the Eagles last season, missing time due to a triceps injury he suffered in Week 3.
He posted 6.5 regular-season sacks in 2024 and four more in the playoffs during the Eagles’ Super Bowl run. He was famously hammered out of his mind at the Super Bowl parade. Smith has 10.5 sacks, 25 quarterback hits, and 10 tackles for loss over three seasons in Philadelphia.
In Georgia’s National Championship-winning 2021 season, Nolan Smith racked up 55 tackles with 3.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and one interception. Smith arrived at Georgia with much fanfare as he was the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2019 recruiting cycle. He had just 11.5 sacks during his Georgia career.
We shall see if the NFL steps in and disciplines him under their personal conduct rule.
