The entire NFL offseason has been about Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini. Each woman seems to bring about more pictures or videos of them together amid affair rumors.

With the schedule release of all teams coming this week, many fans waited to see if any team would go there. The Los Angeles Chargers were that team. They turned the scandal into the centerpiece of their 2026 schedule release video Thursday night.

Among the Patriots’ 14 opponents for the 2026 season, only the Los Angeles Chargers dared take a shot at the coach’s infamous scandal involving the former Athletic reporter. They have become known for schedule release videos that are high in both mockery and production values.

This time around, they did a “Halo” release. When they reached the Patriots, they had clear digs at Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini. They had signs reading “Next photo dump: 1 mile” and “NY Post sent you a message.” Both refer to how the scandal has played out in the tabloids, with the New York Post and TMZ releasing constant pictures of them together.

The worldwide leader in sports, which used to employ Dianna Russini, has a conflict of interest. It has led them to be unable to cover her scandal like other publications.

X user Tony Farmer shared a clip of ESPN analysts briefly addressing the Chargers’ schedule release video. He wrote: “More cowardice from ESPN. You can’t make this up! Remember, ESPN is 10% owned by the NFL and Russini’s former employer for 8 years.”

You could see how uneasy everyone was when the topic came up, and they quickly moved past it.

Russini is a former employee, and Vrabel is a good friend to a bunch of them. They were never going to dive deep into the controversy. Whether they do so or not, pictures of them at a resort and kissing at a bar are still going to make waves on social media.
