ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller has shared an update on his condition following an accident in which he nearly lost his life

Miller was involved in a serious collision in Missouri last week and had to be airlifted to hospital. He also required an amputation, which has left him without a left arm.

“As a result of the accident, I sustained significant injuries, including multiple fractures and broken ribs. I also underwent a life-saving amputation of my left arm,” Miller wrote in a tweet. “While I have a long road ahead, I’m focused on my recovery and taking things one day at a time.”

The former Bleacher Report analyst is set for another operation to reconstruct his shoulder for a prosthetic arm. However, there’s no guarantee the joint will support a prosthetic.

“Today’s surgery is a big one,” Miller wrote on X. “To find out if my shoulder can be reconstructed in order to support a prosthetic arm. Your continued thoughts and prayers are so appreciated.”

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe set up by Miller’s family has already raised $37,350 raised of its $55,000 target.

“This GoFundMe has been created to help ease the financial burden on Matt and his family so they can focus on what matters most—his recovery,” his family wrote.

“Your generosity will help offset medical and rehabilitation costs, travel and lodging for family members, daily living expenses, and other unforeseen costs that come with such a life-altering injury,” they added. “If you’re able to give, no matter the amount, thank you. If you can’t donate, sharing this page and keeping Matt and his family in your thoughts and prayers means just as much.”

Miller has worked as an NFL Draft analyst for ESPN for the past five years. He was previously the lead draft analyst at Bleacher Report, where he spent over a decade.
