Quarterback Carson Beck did not get a friendly welcome at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

During his throwing session at Lucas Oil Stadium, some fans booed him. The crowd reacted loudly almost every time the former Miami Hurricanes quarterback threw a pass.

No one really knows why they booed. It surprised many people because players usually do not hear that kind of reaction at the combine.

Beck did not seem bothered. He stayed focused, completed his drills, and put together a strong workout in front of scouts and coaches.

Social media got to know this fast. Many fans and analysts questioned why the crowd acted that way and said the boos were unnecessary.

Several users criticized the Indiana crowd for targeting Beck.

“Booing prospects at the Combine is loser shit man,” JP Acosta wrote.

“Booing Carson Beck during his workout at the combine is the lamest thing ever, Just disrespectful and not needed smh. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they shut down visitors in the future because of that too,” another user posted.

One Miami fan added, “Indiana fanbase booing Beck during the combine? Easily the lamest fanbase in CFB already after 1 year of being relevant.”

Another post read, “Indiana fans booing Carson Beck @ the NFL combine should be ashamed. He’s not a rival & yeah you played him in the natty but you won, so why boo the kid on every throw? This isn’t a road game, it’s an interview. It’s insane to get booed through an entire job interview. Be better.”

While Beck faced boos, Fernando Mendoza heard cheers. The Indiana Hoosiers football quarterback did not throw on Saturday, but fans welcomed him warmly as he met with teams.

Mendoza, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, spoke about a meeting with the Las Vegas Raiders, who hold the No. 1 pick.

“I was lucky enough to interview with the Las Vegas Raiders. It was a fantastic interview,” Mendoza told NFL.com. “Coaching staff was in there. We went over some of my previous plays and did plays on the board. I thought it was a great meeting.”

“I know they have the No. 1 pick, but anything can happen in the draft,” he added. “Excited for the opportunity and whatever team drafts me, I am going to give everything I got to them.”

Mendoza led Indiana to an undefeated season and a national title. Many expect him to go first overall.

Beck left Indianapolis with solid tape. He also left with a story few prospects ever experience.
