Jaxson Dart’s playing style remains a topic of discussion.

On Monday Night Football, the New York Giants’ rookie quarterback took a bone-crushing hit from Christian Elliss in the first quarter.

Dart scrambled outside of the pocket and attempted to pick up a first down with his legs, but not running out of bounds cost him dearly. The hit he took kicked off a brawl on the sidelines.

Mike Vrabel still saw it as a teaching moment, saying, “I wouldn’t get too cute over there by the sidelines.”

Giants tight end Theo Johnson kick-started the scuffle and was assessed a personal foul.

Despite delivering the hit to Jaxson Dart, Elliss was not flagged since the QB was still in bounds when the hit occurred.

New York didn’t show much fight in the game on Monday night as the Patriots seized a commanding 30-7 halftime lead.

The game was essentially over.

The only notable play from the Giants was Jaxson Dart being slammed out of bounds.

Dart excites fans because, in eight NFL starts, he has shown the potential to become the franchise quarterback.

Unfortunately, he’ll never realize it if he continues to take big hits.

After missing two games due to a concussion, he does not plan on changing his playing style.

“This is football,” Dart said Monday night. “I’m going to get hit if I’m in the pocket or outside the pocket.”

“I feel like I played this way my whole entire life. It shouldn’t be any shocker to anybody if you followed along with my career. We’re not playing soccer out here. You’re going to get hit. Things happen. It’s just part of the game.”

On Tuesday’s episode of “First Things First,” FS1 personality Nick Wright blasted Dart for his defiant comments.

“Not only is this not admirable, it’s idiotic,” Wright said.

“It shows a lack of understanding of your importance to the team. And there is a responsibility the quarterback of a team has to be available.”

The 2-11 Giants are just trying to survive the remainder of the season.
