Matt Miller’s situation keeps unraveling. The ESPN draft analyst is currently under investigation by the Missouri Attorney General’s Office. And his GoFundMe has since been paused.

The fundraiser was launched after Miller’s June 17 car accident, which left him seriously injured. His sister‑in‑law, Caitlin Bever‑Miller, created the campaign.

At first, her name appeared as the beneficiary. A cached version of the page shows that. The current listing now identifies Miller’s mother, Kathy, as the beneficiary. It’s unclear whether the pause came from Bever‑Miller herself or from GoFundMe.

GoFundMe policy makes it clear that donations are guaranteed to be refunded “in the rare case something isn’t right.”

That clause may apply in this particular case.

Miller faces mounting medical costs, as well as the weight of complaints tied to his fantasy football leagues, scouting lessons, and charitable ventures.

Awful Announcing has reported on those complaints for weeks. Participants say winnings weren’t paid, lessons weren’t delivered, and charitable contributions weren’t accounted for. Miller served as commissioner for 91 fantasy leagues in 2025 alone.

GoFundMe Could Potentially Return All Donations Made To Matt Miller

The GoFundMe campaign drew plenty of donations after the accident. Miller’s injuries were severe, and his family sought help covering expenses.

But the pause has raised questions.

GoFundMe stresses its duty to protect donors.

That responsibility is both moral and legal. If GoFundMe suspects irregularities, it can freeze campaigns and issue refunds. That may very well be the case for Miller.

The pause comes as Miller’s reputation faces scrutiny. Complaints have piled up, and journalists are gathering evidence. The Attorney General’s Office confirmed it has “an open investigation into this issue.”

This all leaves Miller in a precarious position. His GoFundMe has already raised over $51,000, but he might not see any of it.

At the same time, his ethics are under intense scrutiny, with authorities now involved.
