Green Bay Packers Join Race For Super Bowl Champion To Replace Micah Parsons

The Green Bay Packers are still in the market to bolster their defense. They made a huge splash in the 2025 offseason by landing Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys and signing him to a four-year, $188 million extension.
Parsons suffered a late-season ACL injury that cut his campaign short and left the Packers in a complex position. Their defense suffered down the stretch, including against the Chicago Bears in the wild-card round.
A couple of months before the start of the season, they made an offer for a talented linebacker. On Tuesday, Easton Butler reported that Josh Sweat wanted to join the Packers, followed by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Yes, the Cowboys did call on Sweat yesterday, but were turned away. TB sent an offer of a 4th, but were denied. Sweat wants Green Bay, and if that fizzles out, the Eagles are his #2.

Arizona Cardinals Ruin Green Bay Packers Plans Involving Josh Sweat

On Wednesday, Ian Rapoport offered an update on this situation. The insider reported that the Cardinals closed the door on a potential trade involving Josh Sweat.
This has gained some steam on social media, so just to provide some clarity: #AZCardinals edge rusher Josh Sweat is not being traded. Not to the #Packers or anywhere. Carry on… pic.twitter.com/bImuZfvWLq

The 29-year-old joined the Cardinals for the 2025 season after spending the first seven years of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles.
In 17 games, he posted 30 tackles, 12 sacks, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery for two yards. Adding Sweat would have made the Packers more dangerous, but the Cardinals have different plans.
