Former NFL defensive superstar JJ Watt didn’t mince words on the league’s recent decisions. Watt spent 12 years in the league, becoming a dominant force and a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks.

He transitioned into broadcasting after retiring in 2022. Watt has more freedom to express his opinion on current matters, including one of the hottest topics in the league.

The NFL will play a record nine international games in 2026. While this is great news for international markets, not many are happy with the slate.

On Thursday, the CBS Sports analyst shared a telling message on X. Watt’s opinion on the international game didn’t sound so positive.

“International game slate is nearing the realm of traveling circus as opposed occasional showcase,” he tweeted.

The league continues to make a lot of money with these games. It collects new fans every season and those games help grow the popularity around the world. Australia will host its first NFL game in Week 1, while Rio de Janeiro will do the same on Sept. 27.
