Jacksonville Jaguars Reportedly Rejected ‘Significant’ Brian Thomas Jr. Trade Offers

The Jacksonville Jaguars turned away multiple trade offers for wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., according to a report from Jeff Howe of The Athletic. The news adds a whole new twist to rumors surrounding his future with the team.

Howe reported that Jacksonville turned down two “significant” trade offers before the 2025 deadline. The team never even looked into moving him, despite growing questions about his role after a difficult 2025 season.
Those rejections are notable because Thomas came into last year with sky-high expectations. After the Jaguars took him 23rd overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, he exploded onto the scene as a rookie, hauling in 87 catches for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns on his way to the Pro Bowl.
Everyone expected him to level up even more in 2025, but nagging injuries and inconsistent production ended up holding him back.
Jaguars Continue To Believe In Thomas
Thomas missed three games because of ankle and shoulder injuries. When he played, he struggled to match the numbers he posted as a rookie. He finished the season with 48 receptions for 707 yards and two touchdowns.

His production drop changed the outlook of Jacksonville’s receiving group. Parker Washington moved ahead in the pecking order. Jakobi Meyers also jumped in front after the Jaguars acquired him from the Las Vegas Raiders during the season.
That situation got some trade rumors before the 2026 NFL Draft. Some observers even viewed Thomas as a possible WR3 entering the 2026 season behind Washington and Meyers.
Despite the speculation, Jacksonville chose to keep him.
The decision suggests the Jaguars still believe Thomas can return to form. The team now heads into the season with one of its deepest receiving groups. Thomas remains a key part of that depth.
The Jaguars also anticipate better results in year two under head coach Liam Coen. Thomas struggled to find his groove in Coen’s scheme during the 2025 season, falling well short of expectations. Even so, the organization still believes the former LSU standout can bounce back.
Jacksonville has made its stance pretty clear. They shut down outside trade interest, including two serious offers, and kept Thomas right where he is. Despite all the offseason trade chatter, the team is all-in on giving their wideout another shot.
