Jerry Rice’s son, Brenden Rice, received a new opportunity in the NFL ahead of the 2026 season. Being the son of the greatest wide receiver of all time has put pressure on Brenden, but he has navigated the expectations.
Still, NFL teams aren’t completely sold on the player. Rice, 24, has played for four teams in the league. The Las Vegas Raiders released him after the 2025 season, which could have meant the end of his career.
However, an iconic franchise decided to give him a new try. Rice found a new team this week.
Brenden Rice Joins Green Bay Packers

On Wednesday, Ari Meirov reported that the Green Bay Packers claimed Brenden Rice off waivers from the Raiders.

Rice hasn’t had an easy career. The Chargers released him during the final roster cuts before the 2025 campaign. He then had stops with the New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks and finally the Raiders.
The Chargers drafted Brenden Rice with the No. 225 pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He played three games in 2024, getting three snaps on offense and 10 on special teams.
