Kristin Cavallari Reignites Divorce Drama With New Bombshell Jay Cutler Claim

Kristin Cavallari has reopened the conversation about her divorce from former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, this time sharing more details about their financial settlement.
During Tuesday’s episode of the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, Cavallari said she did not receive any money from Cutler when they finalized their divorce in 2022. She said she actually had to pay him for part of the value of her lifestyle brand, Uncommon James.
These comments are similar to what Cavallari said on her Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour podcast last year. At the time, Cutler denied her claims, saying they did not reflect how the divorce process works in Tennessee.
Cavallari Says Uncommon James Gave Her The Confidence

During the interview with Emma Grede, Cavallari spoke openly about her finances and the challenges she faced after the divorce.
“I don’t get any money from my ex-husband,” Cavallari said.
She added that the settlement required her to buy out Cutler’s share of Uncommon James.
“I had to give him half the value of Uncommon James in cash and properties and everything else. Isn’t that interesting,” she said.
Cavallari admitted she felt angry at the time. However, she now views that experience differently.
“I was really pissed at the time and now I’m so thankful because I think, for me, I’ve needed these things in my life to keep going,” she said. “I think that is an instance where I’m going to fight harder. Those little moments push me and I come out the other side stronger.”
She also said she built Uncommon James with her own money. According to Cavallari, the success of the business gave her the confidence to leave her marriage.
Cutler pushed back on similar claims during an episode of his “Take it Outside” podcast in August 2025. He called Cavallari’s comments “completely false.”
He said, “Let’s think about this logically. ‘Not a penny,’ OK. Married for, I don’t know, seven years or so, three kids. ou can go and see how much I made in the NFL. It’s online. You can see the contract from year to year and the total amount at the end of 12 years.”
Cavallari also shared a new update about her family. She said she and Jay Cutler no longer share equal custody of their three children, although she did not say when that changed.
Her comments were similar to what she previously told People. At that time, she said she has primary custody of their sons, Camden, 13, and Jaxon, 11, and their daughter, Saylor, 9.
“I have chosen to be the best mom that I could be and be a good business owner and that’s the trade-off,” Cavallari said. “I would love to tell you Uncommon James is a $100 million company and it’s not. But I am the best mom and my kids will tell you that also.”
When asked about her current relationship with Cutler, Cavallari kept her answer brief.
“Just a co-parenting relationship, I’d say that’s pretty much it,” she said.
Cavallari and Cutler got engaged in 2011, married in 2013, announced their split in April 2020, and finalized their divorce in June 2022.
