Lena Dunham Left Guests Speechless With Gay Joke During Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce Wedding

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding featured plenty of memorable moments. But one joke from Lena Dunham reportedly became one of the weekend’s biggest talking points.

According to reports, the ‘Girls’ creator addressed guests during Thursday night’s rehearsal dinner at the Infosys Theater inside Madison Square Garden. While speaking, Dunham delivered a joke about NFL players that reportedly drew mixed reactions from the crowd.

Per reports, Dunham quipped that NFL players are “just straight guys reenacting gay (expletive).” 

With Kelce being one of the NFL’s biggest stars, plenty of current and former players were reportedly at the festivities. Despite the mixed reaction from the audience, Taylor Swift was said to have loved the joke, with The Hollywood Reporter reporting that she called her longtime friend a “genius” afterward.

“Given Kelce’s line of work, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, there were NFL players in attendance throughout the weekend. After Dunham’s speech, Swift reportedly called her long-time friend a genius,” THR noted.

Swift and Kelce officially tied the knot Friday evening at Madison Square Garden in front of an estimated 1,000 guests. The star-studded ceremony reportedly included appearances from countless celebrities across sports, entertainment and music.

One of the biggest surprises from the event was actor Adam Sandler. The actor reportedly served as the officiant after previously working with Kelce on the upcoming ‘Happy Gilmore’ sequel.

The wedding reportedly drew so much attention that portions of the streets surrounding Madison Square Garden were shut down.

As for what’s next, the newly married couple has yet to reveal honeymoon plans. Given the intense public interest surrounding Swift and Kelce, it likely won’t take long before fans learn where they’re headed.
