Marshall Manning, the son of NFL legend Peyton Manning, has been building some hype ahead of his step up to college football.

The 14-year-old, also the cousin of Texas Longhorns starting quarterback Arch Manning, has been excelling in high school and is considered ahead of his time in the 8th grade.

Marshall recently went viral after cameras caught him speaking to his father while watching Arch lose to the Georgia Bulldogs, and he has since played in an important game of his own.

He helped Tennessee-based Baylor School advance to the state title game with a win over McCallie School on Friday night, with his dad watching on from the stands. And some of his highlights are doing the rounds on social media.

The post shown above garnered over 31,000 likes and loads of comments, with some folks refusing to buy into the hype while others did just the opposite.

“They moved off Arch Quick,” someone pointed out.

“Yeah, unless he enrolls at a real HS, miss me with this hype,” said another.

“Good release on the ball, looks poised in the pocket based off that first play,” a user observed.

“not falling for this propaganda,” someone else said.

“He’s got some good receivers with some hands. That team has gotta be stacked,” one comment read.

Time will tell whether Marshall becomes the next great Manning. While he has his work cut out for him, he’s got some of the best role models he could ask for.
