Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly Stafford, seemingly placed Harrison Mevis in her crosshairs after the Rams’ latest loss.

Kelly attended the Monday Night Football clash against the Buffalo Bills. She watched her husband throw for 383 yards and three touchdowns, but the team still walked away with a painful overtime defeat.

Kelly posted photos from the game featuring the couple’s four daughters dressed in Rams outfits four days. However, her caption suggested she had something else entirely in mind.

“God had a different plan than having that ball go through the uprights, but whatever the plan is, we trust it. ❤️ The plan does, however, always include cute fits 🥰,” she wrote as her caption.

The New York Post claims that the reference was all about Mevis, who has since been released.

Harrison Mevis’ Misses Proved Costly In Rams’ Overtime Defeat

Mevis missed from 50 yards in the first quarter before having a potential game-winner blocked in overtime.

Los Angeles released him the following day, signing Blake Grupe from the New York Jets’ practice squad as a replacement.

The decision ended Mevis’ time in Los Angeles after a much stronger finish to the previous season. He made 12 of 13 field-goal attempts during the 2025 regular season and converted all 39 extra points.

This season, however, Mevis made just five of nine field-goal attempts through five games. All four misses came from beyond 40 yards.

While Kelly did not name him in her caption, the reference to a ball failing to go through the uprights made the timing difficult to miss.

Kelly and the Rams will now turn to Grupe as they attempt to steady their kicking game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
