The Cleveland Browns shocked the NFL world when they traded Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday. The AFC North team made a U-turn and shipped the two-time Defensive Player of the Year to Los Angeles in exchange for Jared Verse and draft compensation.
Garrett was introduced as the newest member of the Rams on Tuesday. He joined a contender, making the Rams the favorite to win Super Bowl 61. Meanwhile, he received bad news regarding his money. Kevin Smith noted that, after moving to Los Angeles, Garrett will have to pay about $20 million in state taxes under his contract.

The Rams reworked his current five-year, $204 million contract and gave him a raise for the 2026 season, paying him $37 million in 2026 instead of $31.5 million.
Myles Garrett Sets Ambitious Goal For the Rest of His Career

After breaking the single-season record for sacks, Myles Garrett wants to take his legacy to a new level. When asked about how much longer he planned to play and how many sacks he would like to collect, Garrett made a clear statement.
“I don’t know how much longer I want to play, but I know there’s a big goal out there, that’s 200,” Garrett said.
Bruce Smith spent 19 years in the NFL, retiring as the only player to hit the 200-sack mark.
“I want to eclipse that or I want to make it close,” Garrett said of Smith’s record. “I have a good relationship with the guy who has that record and being able to go get that one would mean a lot to myself, and to him as well.”
In nine NFL seasons, Garrett has collected 125.5 sacks. He is already a future Hall of Famer, but the Rams could give him the chance to reach GOAT territory.
