One NFL Team Reportedly Planning To Offer Insane Contract To Packers QB Malik Willis In Free Agency

A quarterback-needy NFC team is reportedly planning to back up the Brink’s truck for Green Bay Packers quarterback Malik Willis in free agency.
Malik Willis is one of the few big-name quarterbacks available in the 2026 free agent quarterback class. The former Tennessee Titans’ 2022 third-round pick is still young, too, as he turns 27 in May.
Willis started two games for the Packers in 2024 and one last year, with Jordan Love sidelined. He played well with six touchdowns, no interceptions, 261 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the limited action he saw with the Packers, per Football Reference.
According to NBC Sports’ Matthew Berry, Willis will get at least $30 million per year in free agency. Berry also predicts that the Arizona Cardinals will land Willis:
QB rumors from the NFL Combine! @matthewberrytmr on where Malik Willis and Kyler Murray wind up? Who do the Vikings like? And more important, what big name QB are they NOT interested in? pic.twitter.com/SK4yx4zfVQ

The Cardinals are expected to trade Kyler Murray, which would open up a void at quarterback. If Murray leaves? It looks like Arizona knows who they want to replace him.
Malik Willis Would Be A Fascinating Fit With The Cardinals

Arizona has only made the postseason once since 2016. They play in the toughest division in football. GM Monti Ossenfort is sure to be aggressive this offseason, so it’ll be interesting to see how he goes about upgrading this roster.
The Cardinals could be just one quarterback away from re-emerging as a contender. They have a deep nucleus on offense led by Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson and James Conner.
Their defense has some valuable pieces as well, led by Budda Baker, Josh Sweat and Walter Nolen. If they sign Willis, and if he can produce as he did in Green Bay, the Cardinals will be back in playoff contention sooner rather than later.
