Green Bay Packers star running back Josh Jacobs resolved his pressing legal troubles by reaching a plea deal.
Initially, police arrested Jacobs in May following a physical altercation with his girlfriend at his Wisconsin home. Specifically, a formal criminal complaint noted that a security camera captured him throwing the victim to the ground.
The Brown County District Attorney chose to officially file two lesser misdemeanor charges in late August. Consequently, the league immediately sidelined the three-time Pro Bowler by placing him on the Commissioner’s Exempt List.
Packers RB Josh Jacobs Resolves Misdemeanor Case With No-Contest Plea

Rather than waiting for a delayed November trial in the middle of this season, Jacobs successfully requested to move his hearing up.
Ultimately, he entered a plea of no contest to battery and criminal damage to property on Thursday. “I fully understand the seriousness of the situation, and I take full responsibility,” Jacobs stated.
Therefore, the judge ordered him to pay a $1,000 fine, attend mandatory counseling, and avoid contact with the victim. While his criminal case is officially settled, he still faces a probable multi-game NFL suspension.
How Long Will Jacobs’ Be Out of Action?

Josh Jacobs faces an indefinite absence with no set return date while on the Commissioner’s Exempt List. The NFL sidelined the Green Bay Packers running back on August 30 following domestic violence charges. He remains barred from all team games and practices until Commissioner Roger Goodell officially reinstates him.
Jacobs made major progress on Thursday by pleading no contest to two reduced misdemeanor counts. Consequently, the resolution of his legal case finally allows the league to determine his official suspension timeline. Any time spent on the exempt list will count toward his eventual league-mandated punishment.
The team will receive a salary cap credit for any games he officially misses under suspension. In the meantime, the Packers are currently preparing to face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 without their star.
