Patriots Receive Major Update On TreVeyon Henderson’s Status For Season Opener vs. Seahawks

After going down due to an ankle injury during practice, TreVeyon Henderson’s status ahead of Week 1 was deemed uncertain over a week ago.
As last year’s Super Bowl runner-ups, the New England Patriots need everybody at tiptop shape to boost their chances of scaling the mountaintop in this year’s campaign.
Fortunately, the team may have received some good news from their star running back.
TreVeyon Henderson’s Status On Season Opener Revealed
With the Patriots’ season opener coming closer and closer, Henderson’s availability has been the focus of the team.
According to The Boston Globe’s Christopher Price, Henderson has avoided any major injuries. That basically means that he may be up and running against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1.
“TreVeyon Henderson should be ‘good to go’ for Week 1 of the regular season, as a league source indicated he avoided a serious right ankle injury when he slipped on the turf at practice earlier in the week,” Price revealed.
Rhamondre Stevenson Might Start If Henderson Is Still Out
New England kept three running backs after Sunday’s roster deadline. Aside from TreVeyon Henderson, they have Rhamondre Stevenson and Corey Kiner, whom they traded for last week.
Kiner is someone that Coach Vrabel has spoken highly of.
“Somebody we liked last year and wanted to try to acquire last year,” Vrabel said about Kiner. “He went somewhere else. He had a really good preseason.”
It’s important to note that Henderson has not practiced yet since the injury. He still has time to recover, though, as the team won’t play until next week. However, if he’s not good to go, Stevenson might get the nod over Kiner as the Patriots’ opening day running back.
The Patriots were busy trying to improve their roster before Sunday. While they made more trades, it’s Henderson’s availability they are longing for before their showdown against the reigning champs, the Seattle Seahawks.
