Prostitute & Pimp Convicted In The Death Of NFL Reporter

Danette Colbert, known as the “Bourbon Street Hustler,” now faces another prison sentence after a jury convicted her in the death of reporter Adan Manzano.
On Thursday, the jury convicted Colbert of negligent homicide and racketeering. The man accused of helping her, Rickey White, was also found guilty of racketeering, though the jury cleared him of manslaughter charges.
Manzano was a 27-year-old news reporter and anchor for Telemundo in Kansas City. He had traveled down to New Orleans to cover Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles when he died.
What Happened To Adan Manzano
Police arrested Colbert on February 7 after she accompanied Manzano to a hotel in Kenner, Louisiana. Surveillance footage later showed the pair arriving at the Comfort Inn together. Colbert left the hotel alone.
An autopsy linked Manzano’s death to alcohol, benzodiazepines, and positional asphyxia. Investigators said he suffocated with his face in a pillow.
The Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office accused Colbert and White of running a long-term scheme with other women. Prosecutors said the group targeted men in New Orleans tourist areas.

The district attorney described Colbert as “a prostitute” and White as “her pimp.” Prosecutors said the group lured men into hotel rooms before secretly giving them sedatives. They then allegedly stole phones, credit cards, watches and other valuables.
According to the district attorney’s office, Colbert used one of Manzano’s credit cards after leaving his room. She reportedly used it at a convenience store to buy a charger for the phone she took from him.
Prosecutors also told jurors about videos Colbert allegedly recorded inside Manzano’s hotel room. Assistant District Attorney Jenny Voss said Colbert filmed “while he lay dying or dead.”
Voss also said Colbert looked through Manzano’s phone and showed interest in information about his Super Bowl coverage. That included details about where the Chiefs and Eagles stayed and practiced.
Manzano had already suffered a major family loss before his death. His wife, Ashleigh Boyd, died in a car accident in 2024. Their young daughter now has lost both parents.
A judge plans to sentence Colbert and White on September 28. Colbert faces up to 10 years for the negligent homicide conviction. She also received a 25-year prison sentence last year in an unrelated case.
