Social media had a lot to say about a viral post regarding a potential Team Canada vs. Team USA football gold medal game.

For sports fans, few rivalries are as exciting as the Canada-USA ice hockey rivalry. This year, the Team USA men’s and women’s clubs emerged victorious in the gold medal games. They emerged victorious with a 2-1 overtime against Canada.

Megan Keller scored the golden goal in the women’s gold medal game, spoiling Team Canada’s bid at a repeat. Jack Hughes scored the OT winner against Canada in the men’s game, delivering the Americans’ first men’s hockey Olympic gold medal since 1980.

President Donald Trump congratulated the American men’s team via FaceTime after their win. Trump was heard insulting the women’s team during the call, and they have since turned down an invitation to the White House.

With Canada and USA providing two more epic games in their epic on-ice hockey rivalry, the @PolymarketBlitz X/Twitter account came up with a fascinating hypothetical scenario: What would a football contest look like between the Canadians and Americans?

Using a 5-on-5 format, they came up with a Canadian team of: CFL star and BC Lions quarterback Nathan Rourke, running back Chuba Hubbard (Carolina Panthers) wide receivers Elic Ayomanor (Tennessee Titans), Josh Palmer (Buffalo Bills) and free agent Chase Claypool).

Team USA would feature the stacked group of Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, Jaxson Smith-Njigba, Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson:
