Say what you want about Stephen A Smith, but you can never say that he is unhealthy ever again. Despite his age, he keeps himself in tremendous shape.
The ‘First Take’ host has been getting clowned over his physical features for years. He decided to make a change in his life a few years ago. Smith showed off his impressive body transformation live on air this week.
Stephen A Smith Has Put In The Hard Work

He was front and center as the panel discussed his New York Knicks going 1-0 up in the NBA Finals. And in front of a watching crowd in San Antonio’s Alamo Plaza, he displayed the hard work he has been going through.
Stephen A Smith is a part-time actor away from the ESPN studio, appearing as recurring character Brick on ABC’s General Hospital. “I’ve been doing some scenes for General Hospital,” he told the crowd.
“And I was asked, for the first time in my life, to do a shirtless scene.”
Smith first showed a picture of himself from four years ago. This was when he said he was nearly fully diabetic with 29% body fat. Later in the segment, he showed the current shirtless picture.
Smith’s body transformation was a complete lifestyle overhaul that helped him lose over 100 pounds and reduce his body fat from nearly 30% to below 9%. He achieved this through 6 days a week of cardio, 5 days a week of weightlifting, and clean eating.
In 2024, Stephen A Smith made it clear that he was not on Ozempic or steroids.
Meanwhile, Smith signed a five-year, $100+ million contract extension with ESPN last year, per The NY Times. The deal pays him upwards of $20 million per year and cements his role as the face of “First Take” while granting him greater schedule flexibility.
