Madden NFL 27’s most exclusive group has finally taken shape.

A post circulating on X lists six players who have earned a coveted 99 overall rating in EA Sports’ latest installment of the long-running football franchise.

The 99 Club represents the highest individual rating in Madden and traditionally recognizes the league’s elite performers.

The post names quarterbacks Matthew Stafford and Josh Allen, wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, tight end Trey McBride, and defensive end Myles Garrett. Reports from multiple outlets have matched the same six-player list.

Stafford headlines the group after an MVP-winning 2025 season, the first league MVP of his career. The veteran Rams quarterback also earned his first Associated Press First-Team All-Pro selection after leading the NFL in passing yards and touchdown passes.

Allen returns to the 99 Club for another year, while Chase retains his place after continuing to establish himself among the NFL’s premier receivers. Garrett remains the lone defensive player on the list after another dominant campaign that included a record-setting sack total and unanimous First-Team All-Pro honors.

Two first-time selections also stood out.

McBride reportedly earned a 99 overall rating after setting the NFL’s single-season record for receptions by a tight end during the 2025 campaign. Smith-Njigba joined him after a breakout season that culminated in First-Team All-Pro recognition and a Super Bowl championship with Seattle.

Although EA Sports traditionally unveils player ratings throughout the summer, the 99 Club remains one of the most anticipated announcements every year because it recognizes only a handful of players as the very best in the game. 

This year’s group features two quarterbacks, two receivers, one tight end and one defensive star, reflecting the league’s evolving collection of elite talent.
