Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud got a haircut, and football fans can’t stop making fun of him.

CJ Stroud is coming off a shaky 2025 campaign that saw him miss three games to injury. The No. 2 pick of the 2023 NFL Draft threw for 3,041 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions, averaging a career-low 217.2 yards per game.

But he did just enough to lead Houston to a third straight playoff appearance. They finished 12-5 and crushed the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-6 for their first road playoff victory in franchise history.

Less than a month after the Texans’ season ended with an ugly loss to the eventual AFC Champion New England Patriots in the Divisional Round, Stroud decided to shake up his appearance. Stroud had his dreads cut off and looks totally different:

Fans were full of jokes after CJ Stroud showed off his new look:

“His locks were intercepted,” a fan said.

“Is that Bryce Young’s brother?” a user asked.

“New England took them back for 6,” wrote another.

“They are telepathically communicating,” a fan quipped.

“Whatever helps him throw fewer interceptions, I guess,” a user stated.

“Could put the whole playbook up there 😭,” another added.

CJ Stroud Has To Figure It Out In 2026

Stroud played like an MVP candidate in his rookie year in 2023. Per Pro Football Reference, he completed 63.9 percent of pass attempts for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and five interceptions. Stroud also averaged a league-high 273.9 passing yards per game.

The Ohio State product has inexplicably regressed ever since. Even before star wideout Tank Dell suffered that gruesome leg injury in Week 16 of the 2024 season against the Kansas City Chiefs, Stroud had struggled mightily with consistency.

Not having Dell this season clearly affected Stroud and his confidence. Houston will have to bring in better support for Stroud, but if he can’t take it a step further in 2026? It might be time for the Texans to look for another quarterback.
