Tyreek Hill has already played his final game for the Miami Dolphins, but NFL analysts already see a possible new home for the former All-Pro receiver.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay recently linked Hill to the Los Angeles Chargers as the wide receiver continues his recovery from the serious knee injury that cut short his 2025 season. Hill remains unsigned after Miami moved on from him earlier this offseason ahead of a massive $51 million cap hit in 2026.

Hill suffered the injury in Week 4 against the New York Jets. The injury forced him to undergo two surgeries and changed the outlook for his future. Before the injury, Miami and Hill could have explored a contract restructure. But it faded soon after the setback.

Even with concerns about his health, Kay believes the Chargers could take a chance on the former Dolphins star as they try to become a true Super Bowl contender under head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Kay pointed to the Chargers’ need for another proven playmaker around quarterback Justin Herbert. He also questioned the consistency of current receivers Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston.

“The Los Angeles Chargers, looking to get over the Super Bowl hump as they gear up for Year 3 of the Jim Harbaugh era, should be in the market for Cheetah’s services,” Kay wrote.

He added that Hill could still change games even if the injury slowed him down.

“Even if he’s lost a step following the injury, Hill can still be one of the most elusive pass-catchers in football,” Kay wrote. “That talent will allow quarterback Justin Herbert to take his game to new heights and lift the Bolts to the league’s upper echelon.”

A move to Los Angeles would also reunite Hill with Mike McDaniel, the former Dolphins head coach who pushed Miami to trade for Hill in 2022. McDaniel built Miami’s offense around Hill’s speed and playmaking ability. The partnership produced the two best seasons of Hill’s career and two of the best receiving seasons in Dolphins history.

At the time of the trade, Miami already had Jaylen Waddle and Cedrick Wilson on the roster. McDaniel still urged general manager Chris Grier to bring Hill to South Florida once Kansas City made him available.

No one knows how close Hill can return to his old form after the injury. Still, the connection with McDaniel and the fit in a fast offense could make Los Angeles one of the most logical landing spots for the veteran receiver.

Chargers on SI’s Andrew Parsaud supported the idea and wrote, “It seems like a deal worth making for the Chargers.”

Now let’s wait and watch what happens if he remains healthy.
