The Dallas Cowboys were the victims of a brutal shot from their divisional rivals on Thursday, with the Washington Commanders going after them on social media.
While they weren’t the only team the Commanders roasted in their viral post, they got the worst of it.
The full 2026 NFL schedule is set to drop this Thursday, and teams are bracing themselves for shots from opponents. The New England Patriots will be of particular interest, especially as the NFL will not get involved.
The Commanders got some shots in early.
They took to X on Thursday afternoon to share a funny thread comparing their opponents to some of YouTube’s most memorable videos from its earlier days.
They titled it, “our opponents as OG YouTube videos, a thread.”
Washington did not leave the best for last, starting with the Cowboys. They likened their NFC East rivals to a vid titled “How to trick people into thinking you’re good looking.”

Washington Commanders Troll The Rest Of The NFC East

The Philadelphia Eagles have won said division for the past two years, so they were linked to a “Scary Car Commercial.”

The New York Giants and their quarterback Jaxson Dart were placed in the scary category, too, but in another sense. Dart was branded a “Zombie Kid Who Likes Turtles.”
The video was aptly posted by a CaptJax458.

Washington’s jokes weren’t limited to the NFC East. The Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and LA Chargers were included.
The Cincinnati Bengals comparison is perhaps the most controversial of the bunch.

The Commanders returned to relevance after drafting Jayden Daniels in 2024.
They went all the way to the NFC Championship Game before losing to the Eagles, who went on to win the Super Bowl.
Daniels dealt with injuries for most of last season, which meant they would only win five games.
