“Worst Version Of Myself” — Myles Garrett Went Off After Rams’ Embarrassing Loss To 49ers In Australia

When Myles Garrett, the NFL’s reigning Defensive Player of the Year, was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, many said it was game over for the rest of the league.
Then, the season opener between the Rams and the 49ers came and went. And it was a dud for the team from Los Angeles.
Much hype was given to the Rams prior to the game. In addition, weeks before the contest, Garrett’s massive physique and training went viral. Well, all of it was for show. A 27-7 loss for the Rams wasn’t the ideal way to open their 2026 campaign.
Myles Garrett Admits Accountability For The Loss

After the contest, Garrett had the pleasure of facing the media. He did not mince his words when asked about his team’s lackluster performance.
“This was the worst version of myself that I’ve put out there. And I’ve got to be better,” Garrett said postgame, according to ESPN’s Sarah Barshop.
“I’ve got to find a way to recover and get back to the player I know I can be, and I’ve shown that I’ve been before.”
Truth be told, Myles Garrett battled knee soreness during the offseason. The injury persisted from training camp through the preseason games. He even sat out in several Rams practices because of it.
“We got to be better, myself especially,” he added.

Rams Weird Travel Plans May Have Played A Role

The San Francisco 49ers arrived in Melbourne seven days before their game against the Los Angeles Rams. A full week to get acclimated. The Rams, well, they just did something different and questionable.
Instead of arriving early, maybe four to five days before the season opener, the Rams arrived in Australia 28 hours before the game. And their tired faces after a 15-hour flight were captured by onlookers and eventually went viral.
Maybe it wasn’t Myles Garrett’s knees. Maybe their bad showing had something to do with their travel plans.
