The hometown Browns are pouring it on early on a rainy day in Cleveland.

Following an ugly showing on offense that featured a pass-heavy game plan in last week’s loss to the Steelers, the Browns are taking a ground-and-pound approach against the Dolphins, and it’s working so far.

Quinshon Judkins ripped off a long 46-yard touchdown run earlier in the second quarter, and the Browns capitalized on a Dolphins fumble on the ensuing kickoff, driving 46 yards in 10 plays and capping the drive off with Judkins’ second rushing touchdown of the day. Judkins recovered a bobbled wildcat snap and scored from three yards out, giving the Browns a 17-3 lead with 6:03 to go in the second quarter.

Through roughly 25 minutes of game time, Judkins has already carried the ball 16 times for 77 yards and the aforementioned pair of touchdowns. Rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who finished the Week 6 loss to Pittsburgh with 52 pass attempts, has completed five of his seven attempts for 55 yards so far.
