Buffalo Bills Announce Concerning Injury Update For Superstar RB James Cook That Has Everyone Freaking Out

The Buffalo Bills are dealing with an unexpected injury development on star running back James Cook, which has fans freaking out on social media.
James Cook is on pace to set career numbers this year, racking up 867 rushing yards and seven touchdowns over Buffalo’s first eight games. Only Indianapolis Colts star Jonathan Taylor has more rushing yards (895), though the 2021 rushing champion has played one more game.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cook missed Wednesday’s practice with foot and ankle injuries. The Bills (6-2) visit the AFC East rival Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday.

We’ll have to wait for further updates, but it’s probably nothing for Bills fans to worry too much about. Cook looked like his best self in Sunday’s 28-21 win over the Kansas City Chiefs with 114 rushing yards (per ESPN), and there’s no indication that his injury is anything that would sideline him long-term.
James Cook’s $48 Million Extension Already Looks Like A Bargain For The Bills

The Bills and Cook agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $48 million in August, ending his offseason holdout. He received a $9 million signing bonus in the contract, with $30 million of it guaranteed.
Cook was coming off a second straight 1,000-yard season (1,009 yards and a league-leading 16 rushing scores) when he decided to hold out. His career-high in rushing yards is 1,122, set in the 2023 campaign, but Cook will easily surpass that total in the coming weeks.
Buffalo didn’t have a single 1,000-yard rusher from 2018 to 2022, and it was obvious early in Josh Allen’s career that more help in the ground game was needed. Buffalo finally got its man in James Cook, whose $48 million deal already looks like a massive bargain.
