Marshawn Kneeland had a lot more life to live, and he will never get to realize it.

On Monday night, the Dallas Cowboys’ defensive end had the thrill of a lifetime when he recovered a blocked punt for his first career touchdown in a game where the Cowboys could do close to nothing on offense.

He certainly had no clue that his life would be coming to an end just days later. The team announced Thursday that defensive end Marshawn Kneeland has died.

His agent also confirmed his death in a statement.

Kneeland was in the middle of his second season with the team.

Shortly after his death was confirmed, fans began to remember him from better times when he had just scored a touchdown on Monday night.

“Marshawn Kneeland went from scoring a TD in primetime, three days ago to passing away. Life is too short, man, prayers to him and his family,” one post said.

“This was Marshawn Kneeland on Monday night — recovering a blocked punt for a touchdown, living his dream. Just a few days later… he’s gone. So, so heartbreaking. 💔,” a second fan wrote.

No cause of death has been released.
