Miami Dolphins receivers coach Robert Prince broke down when speaking about Marshawn Kneeland.

The 24-year-old Dallas Cowboys defensive end was found dead of an apparent suicide after evading authorities in his vehicle and fleeing the scene of an accident on foot.

The Miami Dolphins’ receivers coach expressed his condolences to the family and loved ones of Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland following news that he had passed away mere days after he scored his first career touchdown.

Prince and Kneeland, a 2024 second-round pick, overlapped with the Cowboys last season. Prince spent the past three years as Dallas’s wide receivers coach before joining Mike McDaniel’s Dolphins staff.

Prince did not coach Marshawn Kneeland directly, but told reporters that the two spent “a lot of time” together in the Cowboys’ weight room while the latter was rehabbing a knee injury last fall.

“We’d shoot the breeze,” Prince said. “He was a Western Michigan kid, and I coached with the Lions for a while, so we had some Michigan stories.”

Former Dallas Cowboys defensive star Micah Parsons also spoke out following the news of his ex-teammate taking his own life.

The shocking death of 24-year-old Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland sent shockwaves through the NFL.

Kneeland, a native of Wyoming, Michigan, was a second-round pick by the Cowboys in the 2024 NFL Draft, coming out of Western Michigan. His death came just days after he scored a touchdown off a blocked punt on Monday Night Football in a 27-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Police in a Dallas suburb say that the 24-year-old Dallas Cowboys defensive end was found dead of an apparent suicide after evading authorities in his vehicle and fleeing the scene of an accident on foot.

Kneeland didn’t stop for Texas Department of Public Safety troopers over a traffic violation and led them on a chase, during which they would eventually lose sight of him.

It was later revealed that he texted his family, “Goodbye,” per TMZ.

His vehicle would crash, and he would flee on foot. Hours would pass before they found him deceased of a self-inflicted gunshot wound early Thursday morning.
