Brock Miller gave football fans a compelling behind-the-scenes look at what life is like as an NFL free agent anxiously awaiting their next opportunity.
Now 34 years old, Brock Miller has had tryouts with the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams. He never landed a contract from either side, however, and has wound up playing in the XFL and USFL, both defunct leagues.
Miller last played for the Michigan Panthers of the UFL, a merger of the XFL and USFL. Amid rumors of relocation, the Panthers have been deemed an “inactive” franchise by the league due to stadium restraints.
On his TikTok account, Brock Miller shared a series of videos to give fans a look at the frustrating life as a free agent.
During a tryout for the 49ers, Miller demonstrated how the entire process unfolds. He got flown in to San Francisco, received limo service to the stadium, went to the locker room to sign a form and then worked out for the 49ers before heading out.
Miller also detailed his workout with the Las Vegas Raiders, this time documenting his hotel stay before the workout:
Just keep hanging in there, Brock.
It’s Never Too Late For Brock Miller To Discover His NFL Dream

Miller may be 34 years old now, but that’s not old for a punter by any means. If he were a skill position player, then it would simply be too late to hold out hope for a career in the NFL.
Just look at Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey, who didn’t land in the NFL until he was 28. Now 30 years old, the former USFL kicker has emerged as one of the NFL’s best, earning 2023 First-team and 2024 Second-team All-Pro honors.
The fact Brock Miller has landed numerous tryouts with NFL clubs is an encouraging sign. He’s not about to lose the strength in that 34-year-old leg, so perhaps it’s only a matter of time until he becomes one of the oldest rookies in league history.
